AIRICA is a young, dynamic startup company with the goal of improving indoor air quality. Creating spaces that promote health, performance and well-being is more important today than ever before. The contact to AIRICA was established by our partner Miromico, which developed the electronics. The task was to economically and technically optimise the existing product design for injection molding and to produce it in high quantities. In addition, AIRICA’s customers are to be supplied directly by us through dropshipping. They looked for a supplier who could handle everything from a single source.
Since the idea and design of the injection molded parts had already been decided upon, the electronics including the sensor and LED had to be packaged safely. An important factor was to achieve homogeneous illumination on the translucent plastic front.
In addition, for aesthetic reasons, the requirement was not to use any screws to close the lid and base. The fasteners had to be strong enough to prevent the parts from breaking apart when dropped, yet still allow for easy assembly. The choice of the right material is essential for the sealing function with simultaneous homogeneous illumination of the translucent lid.
As the issue of air quality is a high priority at the moment, the aim is to market the product in a few months.
We developed a concept which, in addition to mold making and injection molding, includes the entire production up to delivery. This includes:
• Purchasing and assembly of electronics
• Testing of the functionality of the product
• Complete packing
• Dropshippment to AIRICA’s customers
Due to direct delivery to customers, AIRICA does not have any stock itself, but hands over the entire responsibility for worldwide delivery to Phoenix Mecano. In the process, the startup company benefits in the collaboration from our experience and has lower capital requirements, fewer startup difficulties and lower overhead costs.
In close coordination, we put the product design into practice in accordance with the technical requirements. From material to color selection, every decision was made together. We are looking forward to further joint projects and good cooperation.
